New Delhi: World Food India 2025, organized by the Government of India from September 25 to 28 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, concluded on a high note with a landmark partnership that promises to transform the fortunes of farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
In a significant development, Utkrisht Krishi Producer Company Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lulu Group for the export of fruits and vegetables to Gulf countries. The MoU was signed by Mr. Piyush Singh, Director, Utkrisht Krishi Producer Company Ltd., and Riyad Jabbar, Director, Lulu Group, in the presence of senior dignitaries including Abhishek Dev, IAS; Krishna Bahadur Singh, IFS; and Prerna Sharma, IAS.
Under this agreement, Lulu Group will procure export-quality agricultural produce from farmers associated with Utkrisht Krishi Producer Company, ensuring them better income opportunities and direct access to premium international markets such as Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar, Oman, and other Gulf nations.
The Utkrisht Krishi Producer Company, headquartered in Uttar Pradesh, has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable farming. In collaboration with the Regional Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Lucknow, the company has trained over 1,000 farmers across districts including Hardoi, Lucknow, Barabanki, and Sitapur. Farmers have been equipped with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, which combine cultural, mechanical, and biological control methods while minimizing pesticide use. These techniques not only safeguard the environment but also achieve up to 95% effective pest control, ensuring produce meets strict international export standards.
Speaking on the occasion, Utkrisht Krishi Producer Company’s Director, Piyush Singh, said, “This partnership is a milestone for farmers of Uttar Pradesh. It validates their efforts towards sustainable agriculture and opens the door to global markets where their quality produce will now reach directly.”

Representing Lulu Group, Riyad Jabbar emphasized their commitment to sourcing safe, high-quality produce, adding, “We are proud to support Indian farmers by bringing their best fruits and vegetables to international consumers. This partnership aligns with our vision of strengthening farm-to-market linkages across regions.”
The MoU is expected to enhance export volumes from Uttar Pradesh, enabling farmers to benefit from higher price realizations compared to domestic markets. It also places Uttar Pradesh firmly on the global agri-export map, showcasing the state’s potential in supplying sustainably produced fruits and vegetables to international buyers.
With this collaboration, thousands of farmers across the state stand to gain—ushering in a new era where produce from UP’s fertile fields will find its place on supermarket shelves in the Gulf, symbolizing both quality and sustainability.
